A lovely, Victorian-era bracelet, modeled in 14k yellow gold, whose prominent, sculpturalclasp features aclutch ofnodding lily of the valley flowers. Thesesweet floral subjectshave beenrealistically rendered, in three dimensions, and arranged inside a shapely "shadowbox." The floralscene is made in three colors— the long, bending leaves have green gold faces and rose gold backs, and the white blossoms have been created with avery thin application of platinum. A pair of wing-like plaques, decorated with granulation and twisted wire, flank the framed lilies, and a broad swath of braided, yellow gold, foxtail chainmakes upthe bracelet's supple band. Both the interior of the flowers' shadowbox, and thelow points of the flanking, wing-like elements have a beautiful, deep, applied patina that provides contrast in the design. The clasp functions beautifully and theoriginal safety chain is present. This bracelet is a heartbreaker! The floral decor is unusual and, we think, very special.
Lily of the valley has long symbolized purity and humility. According to Greek myth,it was created by Apollo, so thathis muses could walk onacarpet of white bells that protected their delicate feet.
